1st May 2024: Green tech company, Thermly, has announced it will support 20 homeowners in the conversion of their homes to green energy, by offering an additional £1,000 to every household installing a heat pump using its platform. This financial incentive is in addition to the £7,500 government grant available to every homeowner in England and Wales who installs a heat pump into their homes by 2025.
Thermly’s exclusive support package will benefit eligible homeowners in the southeast of the Somerset region, where the company’s recently announced partnership with Retrofit Somerset will see the initial phase of its heat pump programme take place.
Gareth Robertson, co-founder of Thermly, said: “At Thermly, our goal is to make it super simple to change the way we heat our homes. Whether that’s helping you work out if a heat pump is right for you, matching you with the right local installer or helping you access finance quickly if you need it, our platform gives homeowners honest and straightforward information at every stage of the decision making process.
“To extend our support, we’re excited to announce that the first 20 homeowners in Somerset who use Thermly to install a heat pump will benefit from this exclusive package of extra support. This will save money on the initial installation costs, helping them on their way to future proofing their home by adopting more sustainable heating systems.”
The locally driven partnership between Thermly and Retrofit Somerset is a first-of-its-kind programme in the UK, with the initial phase focusing on rural locations in the southeast of Somerset, before a planned expansion across the whole county.
Thermly’s programme will help homeowners install heat pumps quickly and easily, enabling an energy efficient, low carbon way to heat their homes and futureproofing them for years to come. All the installations will also be undertaken by local, Somerset-based companies.
Thermly is looking for interested homeowners in Somerset to get involved. Homeowners who live within the areas identified (see “Notes to Editors”) for phase one of the project should visit Thermly to find out more: www.thermly.co.uk/community/somerset.
