21st November 2024: Green tech company, Thermly announces the launch of its heat pump platform in the Sevenoaks District. Working in association with Sevenoaks District Council Sevenoaks District Council, Thermly will work with local installers to support the installation of heat pumps into homes, benefitting over 31,000 homeowners.
This first-of-its-kind project in the area will pave the way for a large-scale, Kent-wide roll-out of heat pump installations in homes.
Thermly will help homeowners install heat pumps quickly and easily, enabling an energy efficient, low carbon way to heat their homes and futureproofing them for years to come. Every eligible home will also be able to access £7,500 in government funding towards the cost of installation, and all the installations will be undertaken by certified local companies.
Cllr Irene Roy, Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleaner and Greener, says: “The Council has made a commitment to help our communities cut their carbon footprint. We are passionate about promoting energy-efficient upgrades to create a greener, more sustainable District and working in association with Thermly, we can speed up the adoption of environmentally-friendly heat pumps that can dramatically cut a household’s carbon emissions.”

A heat pump is a technology that is used to heat your home, instead of a conventional boiler.
The proven technology used for heat pumps has been around for decades, making them a tried and tested way to heat homes in an energy efficient way, using small amounts of electricity to extract, move and enhance the heat that’s already in the air or ground - into your home.
Heat pumps are three to five times more efficient – for every kWh of electricity used, heat pumps should generate 3kWh of heat for your home. This lowers your carbon emissions, removes reliance on fossil fuels like gas and oil, which is much better for the environment.
Founded in 2023, Thermly is a green tech company on a mission to change the way we heat buildings. Thermly helps householders make informed decisions so that they can move toward more sustainable energy choices.
With a team with over 20 years’ worth of experience in the energy and finance sectors, and in retrofitting buildings, Thermly simplifies decision-making, speeds up the whole process, matching property owners with trusted and certified installers in the local area.
The Sevenoaks District Heat Pump Initiative is a new project led by Thermly in association with Sevenoaks District Council. It is aimed at helping residents transition away from oil, direct electric heating, gas and LPG to heat pumps. The initiative targets able-to-pay owner-occupier households in the Sevenoaks District. Its goal is to facilitate and grow the local market for heat pump installations, and following an initial 18-month trial period, to expand the programme across the entire District.
